Mandatory health insurance for US Citizen on a NLV in Spain

Does anyone know the range of premium cost for a 72 year old male in good health moving to Spain?

@Jg271 If it helps, my wife and I obtained a policy for the two of us for €3500 for one year from Salus. We are 64 and 66 and in excellent health.

I'm guessing ballpark couple of grand. But (like USA) varies according to age, preexisting conditions, the insurance company, the level of cover requested, and the copago (deductible, which usually should be zero for visa-related insurance).

You can use a comparison site (Rastreator, Acierto) to get pricing from a bunch of companies. They all have websites with direct quoting/buying.

Also, you can compare with the Convenio Especial (a form of public health insurance for foreigners) which is 157 euros (pm, about 1,900 euros) for over 65s. This might be useful to look into in a year or two (there's a qualifying time) as it's usually more budget friendly than private insurance.

We had policies with ASISA, they are a good company, and one of the cheaper ones.
