Vietnam e Visa name ICAO Line issue

siddiquesadik8

Hi, I recently applied for Vietnam e Visa. Got denied multiple times now. In my passport,

Given Name: SADIK AHAMMED

Surname: SIDDIQUE

I tried putting that in the same order. Got denied three times. Should I change the order? Surname in given name, vice versa?

Hello siddiquesadik8. Welcome to the expat.com VN forum.

Take a look at this post, as well as the two linked posts in it. I suggest you take some time and read a few of the posts following that link.

Unfortunately, this has been happening often to holders of Bangladesh passports and foreigners from other countries experiencing political instability and significant impoverishment.

I highly recommend that you contact a reputable visa agent IN VIETNAM to assist you in dealing with immigration.

Good luck!

The issue mentioned in the denied reason is "Passport data page (update in ICAO line)". I wanted to know what I should put in Surname and Given Name.

What is showing on the bottom of your passport data page?

Is it...

P<BGDSIDDIQUE<<SADIK<AHAMMED<<<<<<<<<...

note the two chevrons ( << ) separating BGDSIDDIQUE and SADIK

and the one chevron ( < ) separating SADIK and AHAMMED

Is that the way it shows on the bottom of the info page?

Yes, exactly. I have tried the following:

Surname: SIDDIQUE    Given Name: SADIK AHAMMED            Result: Amending (Put in ICAO line)

Today, I submitted:

Surname: SADIK AHAMMED    Given Name: SIDDIQUE            Result: Pending (Maybe rejection coming)

I am planning on the following options now:

  1. Surname: SIDDIQUE SADIK AHAMMED    Given Name: SIDDIQUE
  2. Surname: SADIK AHAMMED SIDDIQUE    Given Name: SIDDIQUE
  3. Surname: SADIK AHAMMED SIDDIQUE    Given Name: SADIK AHAMMED
  4. Surname: SIDDIQUE SADIK AHAMMED    Given Name: SADIK AHAMMED

Suggest one for me. Also is there any issue with all capital?

Your submission today will likely be rejected. If this is the case, on your next amendment revert back to how you had it. You had it correct the first time.

Both surname  and given name(s)  field must be in capital letters (I don't think you can enter lower case letters there).

The correct way to complete the surname  and given name(s)  is as so...

Surname*: SIDDIQUE    Given Name*: SADIK AHAMMED

Did you have time to read the link I provided in post #2 above? If not, please review the comments in that link. Unfortunately, as a Bangladeshi your eVisa application is being subjected to enhanced scrutiny, as are the applications from citizens of various other countries, as stated by member OceanBeach92107 in post#3, above.

We have reports from multiple members experiencing this denial issue. One member, a citizen of Turkey, dogangoksel, experienced much the same issues as you are now. Take a moment to read a few of his posts and my replies, starting at post #422, here. Pay particular attention to post #434. Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to take a quick look. The member did eventually receive approval for issuance of their eVisa (post #444). I suggest you follow the advice given to that member.

What were the reasons given by immigration in their previous "multiple" denials to you?

Also, you didn't mention when your expected arrival date is. Soon, or do you have time to make (perhaps multiple) resubmissions?

Member dogangoksel 's first post to the forum was in post #394, here.

Does the predicament they found themselves in sound similar to yours?

Thank you for your quick response. I applied for three people on 16 September, 2024. One got his visa after 5 attempts. I, with another member, got stuck. For three working days, the status is pending. I think currently there is no blocking issue. I found one bug in the system.

Permanent Address is overwritten automatically. Othersfacing this issue might get help from this. This time I rewrote it after review. Now I want to expedite the process. After going through the posts, I understood that I can expedite the process. I want to contact an agent who can expedite the process by 2-4 hours. I need the visa today. My tickets are fixed. Please help me on this. I need a trusted agent.

Interesting, but I'm not sure I understand. Would you expand on this, please.

Unfortunately, in your unique situation as a Bangladesh citizen, I can't, because none of the agents I know are able to assist holders of Bangladesh passports--as well as a few other foreign nationals from countries experiencing political turmoil and/or serious poverty--with any difficulties experienced with the Immigration department.

Please follow any advice Aidan gives you.

Good luck!
