Dear All,

I am Charles. French Citizen. The maze of Life has me being single now and I chose to leave France for Thailand next January.

I shall probably live in Hua Hin after considerations gathered on the Web. I am puzzled by the choice of Health Insurance I should choose, which is compulsory for receiving a OA Visa.

Any help is welcome.

Kind Regards,

Charles

Have you looked at the O visa instead? Does not require health insurance.

Hi Jon,

I plan to stay for over a year and would rather apply directly for a 12 Months Visa

What is puzzling for you on the health insurance requirements?

JayEsCee

How old are you? If you are over 55 you can apply for a retirement visa given you have enough money in a Thai bank account.

Hello,

Thank you for your post. Well the choice of Insurance companies is huge, which make choosing tricky. and what about going for an International Insurance Company or a Thaï one ?

martinoo2002

If you only need it for the application then follow my link.

https://www.thaihealth.co.th/en/home-english/

They have affordable annual plans as well

Medical costs here are pretty ok

You really have to do your best to get over 500.000 thb

BUT existing issues are not covered and this part will expand with every issue you get here

There are medium to expensive insurances offered by foreign providers, think 400usd up per month

I believe Cigna and Avril are French companies

Or contact a broker like AA insurance decent fellows

Hello

Being french I wonder why you don't consider the CFE.

Also, as already told above why go for OA visa with a compulsory local insurance when O visa is simplier...

Have you noticed that on this forum there is a french side and an English side..On the french forum there is a majority of french (also Belgians, swiss etc..) who know pretty well the best opportunities for french (mainly regarding health insurance)

Good Luck !!
