Hi, Annie here.

I am dr level clinical psychologist who trained in the UK, and want to move to Australia to work and ideally live permanently It's just me on my lonesome smile.png .  I have seen my job is on their SOL list. I love my job and am having trouble understanding the healthcare system in Australia, as clinical psychologists are Dr level in the UK. To be clear, I am not a medical doctor, but am trained to Dr level for my field, such as dentist for example.

I have seen in Australia clinical psychologists can practice with a masters. I don't know if this means I will be undercut by MSc trained level staff.

What are the relevant job boards to look at?

What is the salary expectation for a Dr level clinical psychologist?

I would like to live 40-45 minutes out from a major city to save on housing costs. I know they are far from each other but I am fine with Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, I don't mind out of those.

Will jobs sponsor me on a work visa as a clinical psychologist or this impossible given I have heard there is an abundance of clin psychs in australia?

Hi Annie,

In Australia, clinical psychologists usually need a master’s degree, but your doctorate from the UK could still give you an edge. You can look for jobs on sites like Seek and Indeed. Salaries typically range from AUD $90,000 to $130,000. Sponsorship is possible, especially if you’re open to working outside big cities.
