Planning to retire in PH next year with SRRV

Post new topic

Michael Mess

Hi my name is Mike and i married my filipina wife in 2021. I plan on retiring next year in the PH and confused about the process for obtaining my police clearance here in the US.

Do I need federal records or just my local state would suffice?

What is the process for getting this clearance authorized by the PH embassy? Do i make an appt and bring the document or are there other requirements?

Thanks in advance for any replies and i am pleased to join the forum.

Hi Michael and welcome to the forum.

Have you considered the 13a visa that you can apply for in the US or here once you arrive, a long process but generally the cheapest way for those married to a Filipino national, if you are returning here to retire will your wife be coming with you? If so when you arrive ask for the Balakbayan visa which is good for a year, is free and gives you time here to apply for the 13a as well as an SRRV.

Good luck.

Cheers, Steve.

Hello Michael.  I am in the same situation as you.  My wife and I are relocating to the Philippines next year so I appreciate your question.  I think "bigpearl" gave us some good advise on this topic.
