Pensionado visa

Post new topic

Tagchato

I would like to apply for the Panamanian Pensionado visa however I have a single, 40 year old misdemeanor on my record. I read where a clean record is required so wondering if my record will make it impossible for retirement Visa?

Please note that Panamanian immigration law states that applicants with a criminal record may be deemed ineligible. In such cases, the Panamanian lawyer or law firm must submit a special request to the National Immigration Service of Panama, which will determine whether the applicant can proceed with the application.

You can provide the lawyer with a scanned copy of your background check and grant them Power of Attorney to act on your behalf.

@Tagchato

Check with your lawyer before applying for the pensionado visa. You will need a Panamanian lawyer anyway so check with one of the immigration lawyers in Panama before you apply for the pensionado. Good luck.

This applies to severe felonies.

Prime Solutions Legal put out a series of videos that are very informative.

Givonna Bernal will do a free video chat with you.  She was our immigration attorney and her staff was awesome.

@Tagchato If you have a record that is 40 years old you should check into getting a pardon in your country of residence before you apply for your visa. Of course you will need to hire a lawyer in your own country to do this. I do not recommend you try getting your visa until this process is complete because if you do apply for the visa beforehand they will see you have a criminal record and it will be filed here. Even if you get your pardon later, presuming you have applied here for the visa before the pardon, the record will still show up here since it has been recorded previously. so please don't try to get your visa until you have gotten your pardon in your country of residence first. Good luck!
