New Borneo capital cancelled

As predicted by myself on this Forum some time ago the new $32 billion (as with all these vanity projects the price would have doubled) capital city of Nusantara (trips of the tongue doesn't it 🙄) is to be quietly shelved. To his credit, the new recently inaugurated President Prabowo Subianto has decided to stop shovelling money into a hole in the ground. A recipient of savings made will be a free school-lunch programme :)

Fred

I can't see it on the news yet.

Got a link?

@Fred

It's called 'being in the know' Fred. I thought you were wired in to the movers & shakers in town? ;)

Fred

I normally know a lot, but it seems not this time.

Where from?

@Fred

Yes there has been no official press release. As such I cannot divulge my sources but lets say they are impeccable. As you know Jokowi's eldest son is on the ticket as vice-president so one has to be politic. Mums the word. The new capital was Jokowi's baby and who knows if it had been completed they might have even changed it to his name. Prabowo is in charge now though.

Fred

If it's that sensitive-and I can see why - you might like to delete the thread for the moment.

Something like that is going to ruffle feathers

An overreaction Fred. Lets just say everyone in the government knows about it.
