Hello everyone,

During your expat experience in Indonesia, you may have to travel solo with your kids, either to explore your host country, to visit family and friends in your home country, or for vacation trips.
While this journey can be a great adventure, it also comes with its challenges. We therefore would like to invite you to share your insights and experiences to help fellow expats make the most of their trips with their children.

How to best prepare for travelling solo with kids? Make sure they have their gadgets - laptop, ipad, ipad pencil, mobile phones, Nintendo switch, wireless headphones and charger cables for all of these.

What are the biggest challenges expat parents in Indonesia face when travelling solo with their kids? Making sure they do not get abducted or kidnapped. They are already bigger now, so only really have concerns with my daughter.

What specific formalities or documents do you need to travel alone with kids (eg. parental consent for travel, birth certificate, etc.)? Nothing when travelling in Indonesia. Passports and affidavits when travelling abroad.

What are your tips to smooth the journey with kids? Make sure they have their gadgets. Occasionally let them stay alone in the hotel while we adults go out.

No tips or anecdotes, just use common sense.
