EU Blue Card - Portugal

Post new topic

James M76

Hi all

I came to portugal with a D3 visa in 2022 and got my 2 year residence card in June 2023. It expires in May 2025 and I was wondering if it is possible to apply for the EU Blue Card ?

Has anyone ever done that conversion ?

JohnnyPT

Why don't you renew your residence permit under the D3 visa (+3 years) ?

Here's some support on the EU Blue card:

@JohnnyPT

I could renew on that basis but if it is possible to convert to Blue Card then why not ? It offer certain advantages.

So really my question is whether that conversion is possible or one can only stick to the carc initially given.

I don't understand,  what exactly is the EU blue card ?
