Still room for more expats in Chiang Mai?

Post new topic

Hi everyone,
I'm doing the compulsory "check out CM for possible retirement" tour in early November (2011). I read there are 27,000 expats there? Does CM want/have room for more? I want to explore real estate options, get a feel for the city (was there ages ago) and become acquainted with some experienced expats/Thais as regards living and relocating there - any volunteers:) (also groups, links, clubs etc. you can recommend?). And (the truth may hurt but..) what's the dating scene like for single over 45 white, western women there?

Actually, I will be doing the same thing and that's explore CM for possible retirement too!

I was there some 6 years ago but was not thinking retirement at all! I am thinking of checking it out from around the end of Nov to beginning of January. Then back to the US and pack away :)

I guess they still have room for 2 more :)

Not sure how you are going to do it, but I will be going as on a  tourist visa first, renting a serviced apt for a month and see how I'd feel about it?

Hey, if you like, drop me a line and we could exchange notes?

G Luck to all!

Zan.
