Hi everyone! I just moved to Madrid about 4 days ago. I barely speak Spanish but came over for a great job opportunity but I don't know anyone my age. I'm originally from Florida buy also lived in new jersey as well. Currently I am staying with someone I work with right outside Madrid in aravaca but will be movie to the centro de madrid in about 2 weeks. So please if anyone wants to do something on the weekends or grab a bite for dinner, message me!

well havent been here long, but everyone is very welcoming and polite, unlike some people in the US who would probably freak out if you were to speak to them in a different language. The food is amazing here. Great place to experience some true culture.

Armand

That's a great start then!
Hope this carries on and that you will share your future adventures with us ;)

Welcome to Madrid! You'll love it, I'm sure. Just keep an open mind. Hope you're not a vegetarian. If you are, that's cool, but it'll make assimilation a little more challenging. I'm usually free/flexible and glad to meet new people. I'm from Ohio, USA, and love to sight-see in Madrid although I've lived/worked here for about 6-years. How long is your work contract or is it for as long as you can keep it?

Saludos, MadridMan @ http://MadridMan.com!

Hi everyone,

It´s my birthday on Saturday and i´m getting a load of people together for some drinks and adventures.

I´ve only been in madrid a short while (about 2 weeks) my self and most of the people who are coming have only met each other once or twice so this could be a good opportunity to meet a mix of new people as well as having a good time.

If you fancy it you are more than welcome- add me on Facebook (Luke Bayliss), where there is a group and all the details.

Hopefully see you Saturday
Luke

Hey !

A good option to meet people in Madrid is to do the Pub Crew. I believe it's every day of the week, starting at 10 p.m.... Look it on the internet.

Gook luck meeting people

Hey everyone, also new to Madrid, I am 24 and here working from the US for a few months. I am living near Gran Via/Plaza de Espana in the center of Madrid, and would love to meet some more english-speaking people.  Let me know if there is anything going on!

If you're in Madrid to learn Spanish, its better not to meet English speaking expats. Just FYI. I've just finished up 3 months in Madrid. My Spanish would be a lot better if I didn't always meet English-speaking friends. Not that its bad. I've had the most AMAZING time here.
