Hi folks,

I have been thinking about moving to Malta for a while.
I am currently studying Complementary therapies in uk. And will be qualified by summer 2012.

My question is - Do you guys know if there is a market for this in Malta?

Im studying Aromatherapy Massage, Swedish Massage and Reflexology. Is there quite a few treatment centres in Malta, or would I be better off looking at going mobile after gaining experience in the uk.

Thanks
Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Complementary therapies seems to be getting popular in the UK as there was another query just a few days ago:

As already said the job market seems to be either in some of the 4 or 5 star hotels with Spa areas or ,here in Sliema and St.Julians, in Thai or Chinese Spa establishments. That is probably a 'closed' system though with therapists being recruited within the Thai or Chinese community.

I'll ask one of Maltese friends if she knows anything about a possible 'Maltese' market and whether or how it is regulated.

If you mean self-employment with going mobile that might work within the Expat community but you should give yourself time to set up business and get contacts.

Cheers
Ricky
