Can some one obtain a multi-entry visa with a visitor visa?

Fortunatly my mother will be visiting us in KSA for 3 months. She would like to travel to other countries and return to the KSA during this spand of time. Does anyone know if
"visitor visa" holders can obtain a "multi-entry" visa? Or is this only possible for Iqama holders? Thanks

there is something known as a multiple entry visit visa.. but that is only for business travelers as far as I know. But there is a catch with that one as well. every 29 days, you will have to stamp out and stamp back in again. since u in Dammam, that means a trip across the bridge and back.
