Hey people just moved to Rio and joined the blog. Here for good  and looking for employment in the Heating,ventilation, air-con industry (HVAC).

Hi Scotty,

As you probably know you won't find any call for heating here in Brazil, but A/C and ventilation is a whole different ball game. You should have no problems provide that you can speak Portuguese at least at the basic level. Take an intensive course, it will be worth whatever it costs, if for no other reason than helping you find work.

Check out the Springer (Carrier) website by clicking on the hyperlink below, enter RJ in the box for ESTADO and Rio de Janeiro in the box for CIDADE and you will get another window that will give you the name, address and phone number of every authorized dealer in the city. Have somebody reliable translate your CV (resume) and a cover letter and go door knocking. I guarantee you will find a job in no time at all. Good luck.
