NEW YEARS FIREWORKS DISPLAY - HCMC - 2011 DEC 31

The HCMC Peoples Committee has announced there will be displays at Dan Sen Culture Park in District 11 and Caric Shipbuilding Yard in Thu Thiem Ward, District 2 will set off two low-range fireworks at 24:00 midnight for 15 minutes on December 31, to cerebrate Solar New Year.

Sounds like the Rex complained about last years display at Nguyen Hue and Le Loi.

For the TET LUNAR CELEBRATION there will be 7 locations and many flower markets will open for the coming lunar New Year (Tet holiday) in HCM City

To cerebrate Lunar New Year, the city will be give high-range fireworks include: Caric Shipbuilding Yard, Administrative Centre Construction Project, Tan Phu Ward, District 7, and Go Vap Cultural Park project, Go Vap District, Nga Ba Giong Martyr Memorial Site, Hoc Mon District and Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, Cu Chi District.

Two other low-level fireworks are Ethnic Cultural & Historical Park, District 9 and Dam Sen Cultural Park, District 11.


The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has emphasized the full costs of fireworks are from social sponsorships not from State budget.

On the SaiGon River in the strip between Ham Nghi and Uncle Ho'a museum.

Hard to miss - just follow the motorcycles, from which most VN view the proceedings.

The next Big Bang occasion is around Tet - 2011 Jan 20 or thereabouts.

Thanks! Tried to see them from Thao Dien and climbed up to the 3d floor, but could not see anything... Will try again for Tet then!
