Winter in Santiago

Hi everybody!
I plan to move to Santiago in may and really afraid of that it will be very cold in the flat till september. Is it really cold outside and in the flat?
As I understood there is no central heating in most of the flats. What method to heat the flat is more effective and not expensive (electric heating, fun heating). Does anybody know about gas heating?
Is it expensive to heat a small flat?

and what about winter clothes - should I take with me boots with fur? ))) or it's too much

will be happy to receive comments.

Hi liya1!

You can prefer thick cloths which covers body except the face. Also try to find the flat which is not on top floor as it becomes more cold.

hola, hey look there are many apartments in Providencia,Manuel Montt which you can have that floor heating.but if you ask me then i was not using Floor heating except that i was using very small electric heater.if you will keep that on in your bedroom by setting the temperature then it is more than enough over there dun worry.

Hi Liya with a one or two small electric heaters you will be more than fine, in relation to the clothing it helps to have some good winter clothes, the most modern units have floor heating.
outside temperature its around 5 to 10 Cº. So if you are not used to will take you some time to get used to.
Good luck

Liya,

Saludos!!
Mauricio.
