Hi

I am offered a teaching position ( Professor) In Tripoli for a Monthly Salary of USD 5200. I want to know how much tax will be deducted and what is the cost of living if I bring my wife and one year old baby boy.

Thanx

Hi Marker

One of the posts on the forum shows the cost of living in Libya - it should give you a good idea on what your expenses will be.  Tax I can't help you with, but maybe somebody else will be able to answer you.

I looked into this a while ago and was told expats do not have to pay salaries tax.

Why not try the easiest route and ask your prospective employer what deductions will be made and allowances given?

Some companies deduct what's known as hypothetical tax. Check with the employer.
