While I am aware that cheap health insurance packages are often ill-advised can anyone offer some advice on what health insurance companies (serving Spain) give value for money and reasonable customer service? Thanks in anticipation.

That is a tricky one everyone has a different opinion. Suggest you research Mapfre, ASSSA etc and see what they cover and for how much. Probably having an office near to you would be advantageous. I was in ASSSA - they were OK the only problem was they issue a directory of approved doctors etc to use but it always seemed out of date.

Good luck!

I'm with DKV. They've been good with little problems - but I haven't tested them with any major medical stuff yet. Hope I won't need to!
