Is my university degree recogised in the US?

I graduated from the University of Cape Town, the most highly rated university in Africa, and amongst the top 200 universities in the world.

Question is, will it count for anything if I had to move to the US?

Does anyone know if or where where I can find out if my degree has any value in the states or if I would be reduced to flipping burgers because it isn't recognised?
