Is there a job market for me?

Post new topic

Talanathas

I am about to graduate university in Canada with my BBA -I have already earned a diploma in Tourism Management (specializing in HR,F/B and Eco), and will have earned a TEFL certificate to teach English over the summer- As of this Fall I will be able to move and work!

I am wondering if it's possible for me, a single travelling female to get a job in KSA -I'm aware of the culture shock- and what sort of positions I should look for. Any advice helps!

Thanks :)

Hi, I've seen several new beach resorts on Western Region but honestly I don't know what's the deal with the business there. Regarding living abroad, you should always be open to meet new ways of life and thinking. Just define clear goals for your stay, stick to them and enjoy.

Cheers.

Yeh it is possible for you as a single travelling female to get a Job in KSA. And as you know it would be a cltural shock in the early stages, but things tend to settle down gradually with time. So patience is always the key to it. Positions suitable for you would be in the teaching Industry !!!

Good Luck...

Hello everyone, I am new on this forum, and looking for some information regarding jobs in KSA.
My husband got an offer for a job in KSA, but still no details about it, and we haven't yet decided if we shall accept moving there or not. In the meantime, I would like to ask is there any jobs for female dentist (expats, of course)? Is there any chance for me to find such a job, or there are special requirements about it?
I would like to hear (actually read :) ) an answer from someone who is acknowledged about such things, and if it's possible, can anyone tell me which requirements I have to fulfill to find such a job?
And if there isn't anyone who might help me, can you tell me, please, where I can get precise information?

Just a note, I'm from Macedonia. For more informations, ask freely.

Thanks in advance!:)

You have some repetetive and generic queries, Just take out some time and read the threads on the forum. Definitely most of your queries will be solved. However, if you have any specific ones, go ahead and shoot them. There are many people here to solve your specific queries.

Good Luck !!

Thank you saimans for your answer :)
Ok, I try to take some time to browse the topics and find the info I need. About specific questions - better I ask them in proper threads :)

You can contact Magarabi Dental Clinics.   I was assigned a female dentist from Lebanon.   There are also many young Filipina dentist working as assistants there.   The Owner is a friend of mine and he is very progressive by Saudi Standards.   The only difference I noted is that she always had someone in the room with us during the treatments.

I've applied to a plethora of jobs, and have gotten minimal responses. Im not sure if this is normal, or if its because the market is too saturated for what I'm looking to do.

In any case, I have 2 phone interveiws (one for a marketing position, and another for a ... Im not sure what in a school). Is it normal for employers to suggest a phone interveiw prior to even looking at your CV? And is it also normal practice for things like job details and pay to be discusses AFTER the interveiw?

Well, it's this way in the States, too.  Employers decide if they want you first, and then they make an offer.  In the US, you're never supposed to be the first one to bring up salary and benefits, but for the ME, I've done it first because there's no point in wasting their time or mine if what they are offering isn't adequate.

My advice is that if anybody wants you to sign a contract, make sure everything you agreed upon is in writing (although even that doesn't always guarantee it!).

Thanks for the advice!

I'm coming straight out of uni and jumping in this pool, so I have a lot to learn about normal practices.

You will redefine normal once you get here.
By our standards nothing is normal here.
A word of advice what you do not get going in you will not get.
Promises here are Inshallah.  Which is another way of saying never.

Good to know... I will be sure to try to secure written contracts before entering a position then.
