Hello Mihaela :)

i would like to study medicine,it's my dream to become a doctor.i know normally algeria is not a choice that many students make but i have my reasons.i would like to know your opinion in general.is it worth it or should i chose an european university and after finishing go to algeria? is it expensive? have you been discriminated or stuff like that?merci

micheline3

sorry i misunderstend i thought you are french.but you are an algerian right? i must say i felt in love with this country and its people with their simplicity and their modesty.i plan to live there but i don't know if go to university or after i finish,by the way if i do my studies in europe my diploma will be recognized there? can i ask you were are you from, the region in algeria only if you want of course.thank you and sorry but usually there are few persons that can tell me sommething about algeria and when i meet someone i drive them crazy. bye!:-*

Amine33

Hello again :)
Indeed I am Algerian, not French ^^
I am pleased that you carry so much interest to my country, to answer your questions:
First, it is true that it's not frequent to hear about EU students who want to study in Algeria.
My question is: do you think you would be well prepared for a stay in Algeria? For the accommodation, support, do you know people on the spot... etc..
Because the difficulty you might find would be in this chapter
Studies in Algeria are free (no tuition), the cost for a room in university residence is symbolic (30 euros per year).
However, if your plan is to live in Algeria, I think it's better to complete your studies in Europe, a European diploma will be much more valued once in Algeria.
I am from Setif, eastern Algeria, but I've lived in several cities: Algiers, Setif, Constantine, Oran
I will give you more info,
do not hesitate to ask :)
Good night
Amine

hi! nice to meet you amine.thank you for answering to my questions.i know there is a big difference between algeria and an eu country, but once you get used with the idea of living in a muslim country and you assume the things that this decision includes the rest it's piece of cake.i've met an extraordinary person in a difficult moment of my life and onestly i own him everything i am today...ok i am being melancholy.my boyfriend it's from kabylie can you tell me what do you know about this culture, the people...i know things in general but i want to know your personal opinion, what do you know.sorry for writing you all this novel.thank you once more amine.have a nice day!:):top:

Amine33

Nice to meet you too :) I understand what you mean, It's nice what you've said, but although faith and heart, better not to forget mind and reason.
It is not to advise you againt to go to Algeria, but It is in a wish that you'll have the best conditions, you prepare well, so that your stay in Algeria will be successful. not to regret anything or any precipitation
Kabylie is a very nice region of eastern Algeria, I am half Kabyle myself, people there are open and welcoming.
It is a region with a very rich history that I can't summarize in a few lines. We will talk about it if you want.
unless you have specific questions ... !?
Good afternoon :)

micheline3

thank you yamine.as i said i am very realistic,i am not naive 'cause...i'm not. i know that first of all i have to go there to see with my own eyes the environment where he has grown, his family, what things are they ready to accept etc. and as far as i noticed his sisters do the same things as i do, i won't miss the clubs, discos or this kind of freedom because i don't go out niether here,as the religion i am not forced to give up mine...so others aspects i will faced them at the right moment. but i'm sure that as long as i have his love and  his respect i will be able to manage posible unpleased situations. i know kabylie's history, traditions, clothes and others,i just wanted to know your personal opinion. what about you? how do you like europe?what are you studying? bye

Amine33

Great
Exactly the best is to go see by yourself first, you are welcome in our country :)

About myself, I've lived in Algeria till licence degree.. then, i went to Canada for a first year's Master, and now in France for my last graduate year, I study Modern languages-business and negotiation. Arabic/french/english/german.

My opinion about Europe is that, there are best conditions to study, aquire experience, it represents an experience in itself, the fact living abroad. a way to discover, meet people, cultures, to get open-minded... etc.

About Algeria, it's not only a country but a continent, so much diversity, in cultures, languages, even in landscapes and weather, i guess you know all this.
You might notice that most of Algerians are very nationalist :D, I love my country i will comeback there and help in developing, i can write pages praising, but i will spare this torture :P
What about you? how is it in romania ? with studies... life.. etc

micheline3

yes,i know you are very nationalist and i totally understand you,i was shocked to see how the french occupation has affected you. about you i must say:wow! you are brilliant!and i am glad that you think like this, coming back to help your people. as about romania it's a very beautifull country, unfortunatelly the people that lead us are incompetent and corrupt and that affect us enormouslly, also we were hold back by the communist regime that existed for almost 30 years here. people are very nice, hospitable. we have important universities recognized by all europe and our students are aprecieted and searched by companies all over the world. of course our image in europe is not so great and very often we are being called gipsies and delinquents but i asure you that it's totally wrong and the media exaggerates and highlights only negative aspects.if you'll ever have the oportunity to visit my country don't think it twice!good evening amine!here you'll find a few pictures with my country if you have time to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXOaZCOAW3I

Amine33

thank you for the Video. I enjoyed watching it
Romania is a country i really like, very nice country, my father was there once, i didn't have the chance to go there, but i won't think twice as you said ;) if there is an opportunity to visit it.
About the level of education there, apart what my father has told me, I have a cousin who studied there, now here is a doctor in Canada, I talked a lot with him about his years in Romania, and despite the time (long period since he left Romania), he is keeping very good souvenirs from there, and he is still impressed by people, education, hospitality... etc
Pitty, you passed by such troubles, as you now, we've experienced a bad period in Algeria too, but our countries will rise from ashes Inshallah.
The image you are talking about, exists unfortunately like i saw here in France, but there are fortunately people who look behind preconceived images, stereotypes and prejudices.
My turn to give you a video, of our Sahara :)
From Tassili n'Ajjer, It is said that there, is one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world

Good night :)

micheline3

thank you amine for your words,it means a lot to me :)yes, maybe one day romania and algeria will rule the world:cheers: i watched the video, but i already knew it:P it's facinating how a place with practically no life or condition to survive such as desert can be so amazing with incredible views and remarcable landscapes...i can wait to get there! and the tuaregs they are incredible and how they make it there in such hard conditions...yamine(i like your name,my boysfriend's mum is called yamina too:D) is that true that usually marriages are arranged there? and other thing if i get, there hopefully this summer, me and my boyfriend are we allowed to see each other alone, like going out i mean like dating? he told me that yes but other persons said no,unless we are married.it's not an emergency is just a curiosity i have... bye yamine!
