Studying in Algeria

Hello everyone,

Would you recommend studying abroad in Algeria?

Every year, 4 million young people from all over the world choose to study abroad for one semester or a full academic year. Would you encourage them to come and study in Algeria?

In your opinion, what are the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country/area? Are these free of charge? If not, are tuition fees expensive? Are there many foreign students enrolled in these schools/colleges/universities? What is the main language of instruction at the university?

Thank you in advance for sharing!

Hello
Am one of the students studying in Algeria and am about to finish my degree. I didn't know french so i had to first do a year of french language before joining the université. It quite challenging for english speaking people for the first semister at the université. Algerian Students are welcoming and freindly and not recist but u have to  approache them fist.
Education and résidence is free, the weather is not that bad and you can easily adapt their foods. Professors are kind though they use much arabic in class for their students to understand so each time u have to raise a hand to repeat for you.
When you are a moslem life is very easy but for other religions u may find it hard to associate with Algerians. Their way of greeting is "are u a moslem" "Mali ?..... And most people are not informed especially the youth.
Paper work is one of the disgusting thing to do in Algeria.. U will face many dificulties and u will hate the 'demain inchallah ' words especially when people dont want to work on you.
Anyway if you have other options Algeria shouldn't be the first on the paper.

Standard of education is not up to the mark. Syllabus for engineering or medicine or for any other graduation is not in depth.
You have very less colleges.

I totally agree with you....
They Dont give enough.... U cant just finish a degree and think u are well equiped

You will find very few people do their higher education . I have worked with engineers who have obtained their degrees from the universities.. There by you will see less encouragement in creating industries and less infrastructure which is very essential for the development of a city or country. You will find technologies taught are imported either
From France or from Uk, Italy.
