Hello/Hola/Salut/Ciao/Yeia Sas to everyone!

I, like, Devious Diva, found the link to your website from the wonderful blogger, Melusina over at Mel's Diner (www.litochoro.blogspot.com). You can find my diatribes at www.theseawitch.blogspot.com. I'm originally from Canada but I married a Greek man and have been living here for almost 8 years now. If I write any more here, this will turn into an autobiography and not a post. LOL

Welcome SeaWitch!

You should definitely add your blog to the directory :)
Just fill this short form: https://www.expat.com/en/submit-blog.html

After 8 years in Greece, do you feel integrated? Do you miss Canada?

Take care,

Julien

Hi Seawitch,

I forgot to mention that you should add your blog address in profile > personal, this way we'll see your address in all your posts :)

Take care!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Julien...I've pretty much integrated here just by noticing the little changes in me that I see myself or my family have seen in me when they've visited. For instance, when I first moved here, I could NOT get used to watching the weather and seeing Europe and North America on the maps. It irritated me so much that I didn't watch the weather on the news for months here because I always felt "lost" looking at the map. I didn't have a sense of "place" if that makes any sense. I would get frustrated when they wouldn't show the weather in NYC or Montreal and only Riyadh or Ankara. Now, I'm used to it. I can safely say that I watch the weather with no psychological side-effects. LOL I now know that I DON'T have to take off my shoes when going into houses and actually remember the national holidays.

Strangely enough, I don't really miss Canada that much. I do miss the organization in Canada and the smell of fresh air in the morning but it hasn't been enough to throw me into a big depression. I'm sure though, if I spent a day thinking about it, I'd probably end up the next morning on the first direct flight out of here to Montreal though! LOL And then I'd be depressed missing the islands, tavernas and life without 2 feet of snow.
