Want to move from Canada to UK and run a pub...hard or easy?

Hi

I am a single mum and I have right of abode for England. I have been looking at various brewers and all their listings for pubs to take on as management with living accom. I can get into one for as little as 4000 pounds up front. I am looking for advice from any other Canadians who have done this or any info on how easy this is or difficult. Cheers!

I'm not Canadian, nor have I ever ran a pub, but if you have right of abode, then it would be easy for you to move here and you probably wouldnt have any trouble purchasing the pub, but I just thought I'd warn you that pubs are closing here in England at the rate of about 15-25 a week (depending on the source of the statistic). Due to the extremely low cost of alcohol in the supermarkets and off-licenses (and some would say due to the smoking ban), publicans have it quite hard here.
