Hi,

could you please share advice and tips about pregnancy in Beijing?

Who are the best gynecologists for pregnancy follow-ups?

Which hospitals or clinics would you recommend to give birth in Beijing?

Thanks a lot in advance for your advice !

Christine

Hi all,
I am 9 weeks pregos and really happy so far with the services in Beijing United Family Hospital. My doctor is German and everybody there speaks English. You get discounts when you sign up for a membership which is around 1000 Yuan per year but gets you 20 per cent on most bills. I never had trouble getting my appointments at the date I wanted.
Question on my own: Where do I get nice maternity clothes in Beijing?
Thanks,
Gigi

Gigi hi,

we also used BJUFH (my son is now 2 1/2 months) and were very happy with the level of professionalism.

However, do check your insurance policy very carefully. BJUFH is perhaps the most expensive hospital in Beijing and most insurance policies are not comprehensive enough to meet the BJUFH billings.

The insurance company that I use has now stopped it's direct billing arrangement with them for outpatient services.

Even with the pregnancy and birth in order minimise the amount that was outside the cover we opted to pay and claim back instead of using the direct billing option.

Manlin hi,

Thanks, you are making a good point. I have CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and noticed that they reimbursed me only for parts (about half) of my claimed expenses. I will check into other options. Thanks so much!
