My husband and I are planning to move to Beijing for work. Our son, who is 5, has asthma. I was wondering how this might affect our move and if anyone has experience relocating to Beijing with asthma. Any tips?

With all due respect I suggest the best person to ask is a Doctor not members of this forum.

I know people with asthma lving in Beijing but I do not dare to make any comments regarding potential dangers, or lack of danger, to a asthmatic 5 year old child.

The people that I know have invested in air filters for thier homes. However, I fail to understand how an air filter in the house helps them when they are outside or at work / school.

Ask to my friend leslie. She is french and has asthma

The pollution seems better this spring.  But tell the doc you will regularly see 300 AQI days and multiple 500+ AQI days throughout the year.  If you Google Air Quality Index you can get a little background on the different numbers and what they mean.

:/ I didn't advertise on this forum. I am a native in Beijing, just want to help foreign friends.  [Moderated: No free ad on the forum]
