Getting married in Kyrgyzstan

Armand

Hi all,

We invite all the ones who got married in Kyrgyzstan or who are about to get married in Kyrgyzstan to participate in this thread :)

What are the formalities to get married in Kyrgyzstan? Is it the same for a couple of foreigners of for a mixed couple (between a foreigner and a native of Kyrgyzstan)?

Are the procedures complicated?

How long does it take to carry out all the formalities?

Thank you in advance for participating,

Armand

I'm going through the process now. It seems you have to start with your countries Consulate and obtain a letter from them stating that you are cleared to get married. For me that is a sworn statement in front of a Magistate.

I then take that document over to a Kyrgyz government building, not sure the name right now, and get an approval paperwork from them. I then can get married!

Depending on time line it can take they say 1 day up to 10 days for this whole process.

I almost forgot to mention that this process is for a Foreigner  to marry a Kyrgry in Kyrgryzstan.

Of course there are cost involved with each process of the paperwork.

Yes, from KG side is quickly, no problem. It's depending from the foreign side, how many time it take to prepare document, it's different in each country.
After you just show your document of marriage to your embassy and they will registred it.
