Dear People of England,

From sunny South Africa I will be making a visit to your beautiful country at end April.

I will be so glad if you advise me on must see and do places.
I am also keen to make new friends so would love to meet you too.

Please feel free to provide input for London and surrounding.  As it is I am still contemplating visiting neighbouring cities and countries as well.

Thank you

The Londoner

Hi Nishi

There are SO many things to do and so many places to see that you might have to narrow down your interests for us to be able to give you advice. I'm not a fan of touristy areas, but here are some of my favourite places in London:

- Southbank Centre in Waterloo. I simply love the nature of this building because it's like a public space that's merged the arts and relaxation into one. It overlooks the Thames and the Houses of Parliament, is a stone's throw away from the London Eye and the London Aquarium (both overpriced) and has free Wifi. :)
- Covent Garden. Quirky area with street artists, eateries and a market where you can find some of the most (overpriced) gems. I'm a sucker for things that are 'different'.
- Portobello Market. Wow... this deserves it's own post. Seriously.
- Edgware Road. Arab central and THE area to find pharmacies open at 1am. :)
- Trafalgar Square. :)
- Museums: British Museum, National History Museum, Science Museum, Tate Modern.

I'm artistically inclined, but there's something here for everyone.

Hey thank you so much for this valuable input... It all sounds really worthy of visiting at leisure, just to wander around and take it all in.  I will inbox you further.
