The first payment of rent

Post new topic

Abu_Adel

Hi,
I am wondering : how it's could be possible to pay the first time six months or annual rent when the housing allowance is payed per month in the payroll ?

Please share your experiences ;)

Hi Abu_Adel,
The rent contracts are signed for a year duration and the payments are charged for either 6 months or 12 months. Most land owners give both the options and discounts offered if you pay 12 months in advance. For example he'll offer like:
- 6 months :: pay 40,000 SAR
or
- 12 Months :: pay 38,000 SAR instead.

Now as far as the housing allowance in the monthly salary is concerned, some companies (only very few) pay the housing allowance separately and they issue a check for 12 months altogether. Most companies pay it as a monthly package and YOU have to manage it somehow.

You have guessed it right, this MIGHT BE problematic sometimes, but unfortunately this is how it goes here in KSA.

This is the norm here...so you will need a loan or savings to pay the 1st payment.

You may be able to get a loan fom your employer who then will deduct it from salary on a monthly basis.

Some employers do pay housing allowance 6 months payment and very few 12 months payment.

But becareful they don't just decide to not pay you for the next 6 months till the rent is paid off... Have seen this before where the employer agrees to pay the first rent and take it off your salary. They then expect you to live on thin air till it is paid

Abu_Adel

Thank you a lot for your responses, but I expected more personal experiences. :rolleyes:

How did you manage it guys ?

TheLegendLeads

My personal experience/advice is 'Pre-Plan'.
I always have to manage it through cash-in-bank.
