Christian name issue in business in Riyadh

Post new topic

Would a Christian name with a very strong religious meaning be a problem when doing business in Riyadh as the locals would assume the person they are doing business with is religious?  This kind of negative feeling or prejudice might be a big obstacle for the establishment of a business relationship especially at the very beginning. What do you think?

Personally in my opinion it would not influence the other party.

No, it won't harm the biz relationship. The business culture here is different; no one would ever care about the name and probably no one would ever be interested in knowing about the strong meaning.

Only some religious institutions may have problems with that. Once Umm-ul-Qura university in Mekkah objected on our assignment of a Christian project manager. But Umm-ul-Qura university is much different from the rest of business organizations.
