Mail from Guatemala to USA

Hi,

I just joined the Expat.com and have a question.

I am planning to go down to Xela, Guatemala and then to Lake Atitlan and I am considering staying down there a while and possibly relocating.

One concern is can I mail money from Guatemala to the USA?

I have read people's questions about mail from the USA to Guatemala but I am needing to know about mail going in the reverse direction.

Hi Jesse,

Mailing money to the US ...!!!
Well I guess if you mean put some green bills folded in a piece of paper, then envelop then in the mail... sure you can do it ... might work might not..
Now you can use Western Union or similar companies that's work
or if you have a bank account you can wire from Guatemala to the US without problem.. generally cost around $ 25.00
