Hey all,
I am flying over very soon to remain in Riyadh permanently!
I've been before but I've never flown over alone...
which isn't usually a big deal but being a lone girl in Riyadh, well...Anyway!

Any do's & don't?

Many of us are 'lone' girls and there's plenty of advice on the forum.  Happy reading! :)

Do you mean dos and don's just in the airport? It is an airport so best suggesstions would be dont bring a bomb, dont bring knives, dont bring drugs dont bring firarms - do bring your passport do bring your visa do remember your bags and do be sure to smile at passport control - confuses the hell out of them.

But you said you have been here before so you know what it is like surely?

Luckily, I am well equipped with common sense.

Do I need to don the abaya as soon as I land? Are they funny about women travelling alone? ....

Freshlikesushi

sarcasm aside. Most women i saw put abayas on before getting off the plane

I've seen women without abayas (long skirts, loose blouses) but I feel more comfortable wearing it.  Don't need the aggravation of being gawked at in addition to the aggravation of getting through customs, etc

No they don't care who is coming off a plane just make sure you are first to passport control cause it takes them 10 years just to settle themselves into their sseats let alone actually get anyone into the country. You do not need to wear an abaya in there, so long as you are dressed modestly - but same as Allie I find it easier just to wear it your going to have to put it on later anyway.
