Hi,

I am in Oman now teaching in a university here. I have lived all over the Gulf countries and now I am looking for a change.

I am an American, native English speaker. I am a certified primary school teacher. I also have a TELF , this has allowed me to teach in in a few universities here. My question is what is the job  market like for either international schools or university English teachers?

Thanks in advance,

Nisaa

Hi you need a masters for a uni job in Malaysia and TEFL work is hard to get and low paid in general. International primary schools pay better!

Nmuhammad

Thanks for the Info. I have a masters and I am working on my PHd. Its not in TESOL thats why I needed a TELF to work in the University.. I would rather teach in an international school I think. Again, Thanks

Ok depends on subject but with a phd you will prob earn more than in an int school. KL is boom town for international schools and lots of jobs fonthose with proper qualifications and experience. Often best at this stage to email all the schools and ask!
