Just joined the forum and it looks as though there is a lot of useful information! I am an Australian born with a Maltese dad. Most of my aunties and uncles as well as cousins are all in Malta. I have only been ther once and that was last year. I can't wait to get back again but this time with our children.

Hi Groto,

welcome to the forum.

You should start sorting out your citizenship issue right away as your father is Maltese and not your mother.

You can check out the appropriate category at this government website:

Hi yes I have done that and now have my Maltese passport. I have also applied for Murphy children's citizenship and that is  being processed. However they say it can take up to 18 months. This may delay our leaving date unless there is some way they can stay until theirs has been processed.

Hi Groto,

well done -))) .I wish you luck that you can speed up the process.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Cheers

I wonder and hope that I can speed it up! How did you choose where to live? I like Gozo very much. My father was born there. I guess now my decision where to live will be based on where the most suitable school is for my children.. I have family all over Malta.
All the best!

Hi Groto.
I recommend Gozo, but then again I would:
I am currently living in a farmhouse in Gozo. I am looking to hand over my contract to someone (not because of the house - it's LOVELY, just a change of circumstances).
Here is the house description:

(moderated: please post in the housing section. Thank you)
