UK family relocating to Oslo - so many questions!

Took our things 2 weeks to arrive and they lost some of it...

In terms of clubs especially for the younger kids not sure havent seen much - most people seem to use AFO (after school care) and Kindergarden as the 'clubs', though I could be very wrong on this - we have kids and found you had to make own entertainment.

Where in Oslo are you heading?

It will be different way of life for you from UK and frustrating at times too... There are lots of good things about here the scenery is fantastic, I love the long evenings in summer, generally the people seem positive and more outdoorsy than UK. But we have also found hard day to day life and lack of modern living and entertainment. But you are heading to Oslo?? so it shouldnt be as harsh the prices WILL seem very high, but dont convert to UK prices in your head just try to work out if you're getting a good deal - though most things in norway seem to be a relatively consistant price.

We have found it hard to meet people, even with me working... if you dont work it WILL be harder - though at least you're heading to area with English speakers. If the kids are heading to an international school - that might be you're best way to make connections.

They like biking etc here and should be opportunities to fish and boat too Oslo fjord is nice.

The big shocks will be weekly shopping, paperwork, lack of good kids playgrounds and if you have young kids - its practically impossible to bring them to cinema as hardly any kids films are in English. But then you could do bowling perhaps?
