Move to Oxford with your car

Hi everybody, I'll be moving to Oxford in August and for a year but I'll come with my car from France.
My French insurance cannot work a year abroad so I would like to know if it's possible to get an insurance here for my French car?
If some of you had the same problem tell me your story please.

Hi, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the insurance - my husband dealt with it. But just use google - We had foreign car insurance in the uk KSA vehicle. For that one you could only get it for 6 months as you are supposed to register the car in the UK if you are there longer than that (apparently) - But we just renewed and no one asked anything.
