What is the situation with fresh cream - is it easily available in Malta or is cream sold in tins like so many other EU countries (was never able to find fresh cream for recipes in Madrid)

Do you mean cream like whipping cream ? I just bought Elmea double cream light from Scott's supermarket. You get whipping cream,double cream, single cream even in brands from the UK and also the fresh Maltese Crema.

I think you should be ok with fresh cream.

Thanks guys.... Will pack my ice cream maker. I can also use it for sorbet or gelato if cream wasn't available - but there's nothing like a smooth creamy homemade ice cream! Starting to put superfluous household items on ebay in preparation for our move in a few months time
