Need an honest feedback on the offer

Post new topic

Deep302

Hi
I am from Mumbai India and I need your guidance on the offer that i got and the kind of calculations provided to me.

Offer
Basic - 15000 Per Month + 25% Housing Allowance + 500 SAR for mobile + 200 SAR for Fuel

In addition to this i am promised Annual Bonus of 25% Basic+ Ramadan Bonus of 3000 SAR and a suitable car (I dont know what is suitable but indication is that it would be a car with a lease value of 2000 SAR per month).

Ofcourse, all other common benefits like Once a year flight tickets + medical insurance + Kids school allowance of 1000 SAR Per month per kid have been provided.

Expenses - I am told that i would get a decent accomodation for 2500 SAR per month and that i need to spend just about 2500 SAR per month for food and other basic needs.

My current package in India is about 25 Lacs rupees per annum.

I need a very frank feedback on this offer - esp in terms of saving potentianl.

My life style is very simple.

Also on the reliablity of facts on accomodation and other expenses as stated above.

Freshlikesushi

dont do it

Deep302

This offer is based out of jeddah

Assuming you are getting 25lacs/annum in India, not per month... I feel The offer needs more negotiation !!

saimans

And I hope you are not going on verbal promises !! :)

BTW, same I responded to you in the other thread too.....

Deep302

Thanks Saimans
How much do you think i should negotiate more?

I am sure you know that in India we pay alsmot 30% as taxes.

Also are the figures on housing and food closer to reality in Jeddah?

Thanks

saimans

I wish I could give you answer for this !! :(

Yes for an apartment outside the compound, figure seems to be realistic !! :)

Freshlikesushi

noone can tell you what to take.

take what you feel is worth it. we dont know your financial, familial, location based situation. only you do

Deep302

Thanks Both for your feedback.... I appreciate it

But is this pay inline with what managers earn to get a decent living and saving potential? (I am expecting to save about 12000 SAR per month)

Also - In a lease of 2000 SAR per month, what kind of a car can i expect?

Would be grateful for your opinions

dragonladyoz

Payment in Saudi is based upon passport colour mostly - so hard to say if offer is fair. Also you don't say if you have family with you or not.....

One point to note is that they have just announced (last week) that expat children will not be allowed to attend local Saudi schools at all for any reason. This means any children you have will need to attend an international / private school so I don't think that 1000 a month will cover their fees, although I don't know what the Indian school charges.

If you spend 200SR on fuel each month you would be doing an awful lot to travelling! 25-30SR to fill a large tank on 4x4.

Indian Schools do charge around that range only !! :)

Deep302

Thanks.. I intend to move with my wife as i have no children yet.

Yes i agree that salary depends on the colour of the passport or atleast it seems so...

can u help me with what kind of cars does one get in a budgeet of 2000 SAR per month lease?

dragonladyoz

We found lease was much more expensive than purchase of car outright for the time we would be here - as well as some dodgy clauses that were in lease - so can't help.

wow , and a KSA citizen for 5000 per month total package . I LOVE KSA

Hi Deep, I am also not an expat. But, based on what I have read, I think you can save 12K SARs per month with the package you have got. However, would you be satisfied with that amount of savings? How much of your current CTC in India is fixed/variable? What is the position you have been offered - that may give an idea of whether the package is appropriate or not?

If you are getting even 20 lakhs as fixed in India, I feel the package you have got is on the lower side.

It's not.  It's based on 1. passport  2.  skin color and, finally, 3.  expertise.

Alliecat, you said "It's not.  It's based on 1. passport  2.  skin color and, finally, 3.  expertise". Do you mean to say people from the west get better packages in KSA that those from the India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Africa, etc?

I think that is understandable because of the currency exchange rates. The salary of an American in NY, is 3-4 times the salary of an Indian in Mumbai, who is doing the same job. When both these 2 guys come to KSA, where they are paid in the same currency, there ought to be some differences. Companies in KSA would have different market based salary standards for prospective employees from different countries. Otherwise, they will not get the talent/skill they need.

Yes, they justify the differences here by saying you get the salary that you'd get IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY for the work you are doing.

indian142521

From what I read and see in these blogs, I think the salary figure they offer is around 50% higher than their current salaries in India. But, considering the fact that there is no personal income tax in KSA, that hike is around 80-90%. They make it a little bit attractive, so that guys fall in to that lure for higher savings.

Hitch

god if im not mistaken its like .

Google i know every thing .
Facebook i know every one .
internet " you cant live without me "

Electricity   " guys how are you "

if you know what i mean !! ( just have a cool drink with soda )

Nobody is hotting up here. The blog is meant for everyone to share their views, which we are doing. If you think you know more than others, please share.

Hitch

Okay let me put this in the nicest way I can .
Something are meant to be hidden like the amount of salary , or type of job or regulations of dating in KSA . Don’t get me wrong it’s fun and nice to talk about it from time to time , not be in to it and demand for details . all you have to do is believe in yourself , ( education – experience  and most important thing take the advantage of your chances )

There are things you may have the chance to plan for , others it’s just faith that brought you here .  if you want an argument put a line and I will fallow you . however it’s a dissection will only lead to aim and he have more than me shit .

At least that what I do believe in . good luck with what you seek for .

We don't need to read a blog--we're all living with the discrimination here.  I am one of the *favored* ones and I find the whole thing appalling not only in practice/principle but also because it sets up resentment between co-workers and different nationalities, in general.

Lots of what goes on in KSA separates people, rather than unites them (but maybe that's part of the purpose?).

@ Alliecat ... as if they care :).
