Unless it is a house with some open space, I don't think anybody anywhere in the world would welcome renters with dog(s)(with very rare exceptions)... would you? I would not. Anyway, I rented once in Quito with a small dog, but I treated my landlord the "Ecuadorian way": didn't tell him about the dog in the beginning and later on it sort of became a norm... am I becoming an Ecuadorian? God, hope not...
I'm sure you will find a place with a dog, but you will look longer/harder, and your pet will be a reason for a higher rent.
Good luck!

The other day I was at Palermo building, very big, fancy expensive building with many expats living there, and it was a big post in the wall saying "Only one pet for apartment is allowed. This is an enforce rule" And then I saw a women leaving the elevator with two dogs.

So, nobody cares about the rule or the lady gets especial treatment.
