Hi,

emails are now commonly used worldwide. However their use and the "power" given to them seem to be different from one country to another.
So I would like to know what is your feeling about email in your expatriation's country ... well my question is hard to explain. But take a look at my answer and I hope you will understand.

I move to France from Italy, and I experienced that email in Italy are not enough official to solve your problem, but enough official to put you in trouble... For example, if you put the big boss in the line "TO" and not in the line "COPY" ... it is really really bad !! And you have to write, as if you write an official letter ... but if you need an official answer, email is not enough ...

I mean, it is strange because in France, emails are like written speaking ... you don't write email as an official letter .... well ... when you know the people you are sending an email...

Let me know your impression about email and the "relation" that your boss share with them...

I've never used emails at a 'job' as such, still being a student and all, but here (Australia) they're pretty much like you described for France. Even my emails with my supervisor are pretty informal. It was the same in Canada.
