Query regarding Iqama renewal

This seems to be a commonly discussed topic, so do kindly excuse me if this triggers revulsion amongst the regular members.

I am a lurker. And, I have been lurking on these forums looking for a solution to my problem, without having the need to ask any questions. Yes, sounds really sad when I put it down like that. Anyway. I'm asking it here now.

I have three months on my Iqama before it expires. My profession is listed as 'Student', and as per the new regulations, I should be out of this country, as I'm older than 22 years. So. I want to stay. That means transferring my sponsorship from my dad, to a stranger. OK. Can I do it? Considering I have only three months on my Iqama before it expires?

Shout out to TLL, and the other members of the forum who have knowledge regarding this issue.
