I am looking for a mother and toddler group in Al Hamra village, where expat mothers can bring thier children, babies, toddlers to play and they can have a coffee and meet other mothers in the area. i am finding it difficult to allow my 11 month old to socialise with others babies/children and i think that there are other mothers in my situation, any adivce would be helpful. x

Hi , we moved to Al Hamra three weeks ago and my kids aged 10& 6 are bored of not having friends to play with in the area, so Mimilta since you started the advert, any luck in kids and mothers gathering as the village is huge and not like other small compounds that kids bump into each other!!!

Hello all posters in this subject and welcome to Al Hamra Village,

as far as I know there are no such groups available, but maybe you could start one yourself. Usually, all such incentives are privately organized here. If you start one, you could also advertise this in Al Hamra Village group on FB?

Hope this works out for you.

Cheers

OK ladies, I did share this thread on AH Village group on FB and already got a reply from Gemma Rice Mullins which I quote here :

There is one currently running in the Al Hamra Golf Club Activity Room on Sunday and Tuesday mornings from 10-12. You can either drop the kids off or stay with the kids and have a chat with all the other mums. There is a small fee to cover hire costs for the room. It is ran by two wonderful ladies called Liz and Helen. They can be contacted on playgrouprak@gmail.com should anyone wish to contact them. My kids love it so i highly recommend it and its great for mums to socialise too ! Hope this helps x.

Voilà,I hope this helps you ladies!

Hello Mummys!

Just a quick question - are there many mums with young children living in Al Hamra?
Are there any quality nurseries around?
Would Mums and Dads pay for proper childcare and nursery education in RAK?

Any feedback would be great!! :D

hi there guys! I'm a mom of a 3-yr old and she's currently in De La Salle Montessori here in RAK.  We live here in Royal Breeze Apartments, Al Hamra Village.  So far, the school is good and its very near to Al Hamra.  They just started operating last December. If you like to inquire, here's their contact number (moderated: pls use pm)

Masafi Mama

Hi everyone,

We just moved to Al Hamra this weekend - I have a 4 month old baby and would love to meet other mums in the area.

Are the coffee mornings at the Golf Club still on? I did send an email to the address provided but didnt get a response.

If not, would any other mums fancy meeting for a coffee later in the week?

Thanks

FeeAcer

Hi Masafi Mama,

I did send you a private message so please check your inbox and get back to me!

Hi,

I'm a mum of two young children (four year old son and 19 month old daughter), living in Al Hamra village. I'm looking for a playgroup to attend.  Does anyone know of any good playgroups running in the area?

Thanks

I wondered if anyone managed to find a group? I have recently moved to mina al Arab, close to al hamra and have a 2 month old. We'd love to meet some other mummies and babies! Thanks so much.

Hi everyone

I have just moved to RAK but I'm in the city in Julphar Towers. Been browsing and it seems that all the action is centred around Al Hamra.
Was wondering if there are any playdate groups/groups for moms here as well.
My son is 4 yrs old n since we're in apartments, there's hardly any opportunity to meet kids his age.
N id love a coffee n chat with mums as well.
