Which visa should i apply for ?

We are 7 people who are going to Mauritius in february, for 6 months as a part of our education. Our education well be all work and no school. we will be working in the social sector (i think you would call it). we are paid, by the danish gouverment, so its kind alike charity work. But my dilemma is i dont know if i should apply for a work or a study visa or something completly, different...

Hello Jonas,

If I have well understood, you will be on a training or internship period in Mauritius in which case you will not apply for visa but for residence permit, specifically to undergo a training. See the doc:

The one that concerns you is Part II.

The organisation that will be "hosting" you will start the procedures and you must have a document from your training institution (university/school) that says that this internship is needed to complete your study.

Will the organisation also cater for your accomodation or will you have to seek for yourself?

No there will be no accomodation involve with our internship. We have a hostess who will be getting us places to work so i dont even know yet where we will be place.

Jonas,

In any case, I'd advise you to start procedures very quickly as it can take very long before you receive the said paper to be able to come to Mauritius!

I have done this for French trainees for the place I work for and it might take up to " months in all.

Am i reading the guide right, when i say that we can come 14 days before our trainee visa kick in and leave up 14 days after expiration date?
