A Message from Dr. NGUYEN Van Nghia, Veterinary Surgeon

Jaitch

I have seen many dogs and cats recently die because of some preventable accidents.

One cat fell from the 9th floor of a building in Phu My Hung. Yet another one fell from the 10th floor of a building, again in Phu My Hung. A third incident was where a cat fell from the 6th floor of the Manor, Binh Thanh. All died. The owners cried a lot, they had moved to a new apartments. Before, their cats used to live on the ground floor in Thailand.

Another cat died in the closet after fumigation.

Two dogs died because of rodenticide; another dog because it was given human Paracetamol. A third dog died because of pesticide or poison put out by a neighbour.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, I am extremely sad to learn of these accidents, as most of these can be prevented.

Please tell your family members and friends:

1. Do not use medicine prescribed for humans on animals for ANY reason;

2. Acclimatise your animals to their new homes;

3. Protect animals from rodent/bug control chemicals and remove them when fumigating premises.

Regards

Nghia

Jaitch,

Is Dr. Nghia an expat? I see he was trained in the UK...just curious if he's a local that studied overseas.
