Bring TV across Countries

Post new topic

Hi Friends,

In Indonesia I can see TV for cheap price. I would prefer to buy it here and wants to take to India on this week end. But I already enquired with my friends there wont be any problem to bring TV (until certain inch) from other countries to India. Most of us know there is no direct flight from Jakarta to India. We need to take transit in KL/SIN/BAK etc. Unfortunately since I booked my ticket in Air-ASIA (no fly-thro) i need to clear my immigration in KL as well. But not aware of custom tax for expats in KL.

Anyone can help me on this? Whether in KL immigration they will ask me to pay any custom tax if im going to bring to TV from Jakarta?

Hi Allinall29,

I have no proper experience to advise you, but based on my experience with coming expat, I don't think you can go out easily bringing a new TV set without being subjected to export tax. and then again, dealing with custom clearance officer IMO would be the last thing you could enjoy in life.

Thanks for your input Dee.
