November weather

Post new topic

I am thinking about another trip to Ambergris Caye and the mainland in November. I have never traveled during this month. I can get all the information/facts I need online but want some local info on what it is REALLY like in November. I know it is going to be some rainy but does that mean we can't go out or just more rain than normal but activities continue as normal. Any information is greatly appreciated. Ron

You should still be prepared for rainy/hurricane weather in early November, although as the month progresses, it will get markedly better. I moved to the island in October of 2010, and the end of that month, Tropical Storm Richard greeted me. As the rainy season started early this year, who knows, it could be gone by November - hard to say.

November begins the "high" season for tourists, so prices will follow. No matter what time of year you visit Ambergris Caye, it's still gorgeous! Have fun :)

When we say rainy season in Belize that does not mean that nothing can be done. The rain here is not cold accompanied by cutting winds like in the US or Europe. I remember as a child we used to love the rains because that meant we could go bathe in it:) It might rain some days and the next be sunny. These last couple of days it was raining and right now the sun is hot hot hot!

The people that are more affected by rain are the wood loggers up in the Maya Mountain, House Builders, and if you live in Belize city.

In the month of November there will be festivities in the southern part of the country. Punta Gorda, Hopkins, Seine Bight, etc. for the celebration of Garifuna Settlement Day.

Currently it has been shorter heavy bursts of rain and while it may not stop activities, it is a good idea to be waterproofed.

Lots of puddles right now as well on the dirt roads.
