Multi entry Visa

Looks like I may be coming to Riyadh in January and I know I am going to want to travel on my off time. My question is regarding the multi-entry visa. Is this a standard issue visa for people with residency who are working long contracts in the Kingdom or will I need to make a special application. If it is the latter, is the process difficult and/or expensive? What do I need to do?

I just got one. It was through my employer and there wasn't much paperwork. It cost me $125 American and will last for six months, with entry/exit as many times as I can use it.

When I returned from Egypt, I had to submit my passport and this multiple entry visa (it's just a sheet of paper with official seals) to HR in order to receive my iqama back.
