Retired?

Post new topic

Bob K

My wife and I (in our 50's) "retired" from the rat race of the US a year ago and relocated to the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

To keep busy we are building a villa here and have gone to work selling real estate (like many others). So much for retirement.

We however are enjoying it and lookiing forward to many years here. There is also lots of charity work that we are starting to get envolved with (mostly for the kids) and that helps to keep us busy as well.

Love the people, beaches, weather, food and don't miss the old stress.

Welcome on board Bob!

I hope you enjoy life in DR :)

How did you make the decision to move there?

All the best,

Julien

We had explored most of the islands and central america. This seemed to fit the best and certainly the most affordable. It is also an easy flight from the USA for friends and family to visit.
It was time to restructure our lives. Life is short afterall.

hey, that's great!

Have you explored other countries too?

We have spent lots of time in Mexico vacationing and diving. We also looked seriously at Costa Rica, and Honduras in Central America.  We also explored most of the carribean islands as well as Fiji and Tahiti.  The Dominican Republic just felt right and certainly was afordable.  It is however somewhat 3rd or 4th world in many aspects.
