Hi all,

I'm going to be staying in HCMC for quite a while, and I'm not really crazy of carrying my music instruments thru the world.
I play double bass, nylon guitar and piano.
Is there a chance of renting (or leasing) a digital piano and an upright bass?
And/or how much it could cost me compared (roughly) to same stuff in the US? E.g., can I find, say, a Yamaha silent guitar or an NS Design EUB in HCMC? Is there any online stores I could look at those?

Thanks a bunch!

YuZ

You should be OK for guitars. The dealers are located in essentially a single area of town ... including an authorised Fender dealer.

Pianos are around. The last one I heard of was going for the cost of transportation from the departing owners apartment in PMH.

Thank you Jaitch.
Have  you heard anything about upright basses?

There are some instrument strores in District 1 where you can rent. I remember the cost at a store is 100000VND (5USD) per hour. I don't know how much it is at other stores. I heard Music Institute of Ho Chi Minh city rents too.
You can come there to ask them. The cost may be cheaper than stores'.
Best wishes.

YuZ

That sounds encouraging.
Thanks a mil, Traitao.

Yuz asked a good question^^

well I love playing piano, and I miss it so so much... right now I can not rent any one, cause I am in hotel...so I wait until I get my apartment :)
But I was wondering if by any chance (i just try), any of you, know where can I play on a "real" piano (I mean, not digital) in store maybe (if they would let me do it lol) ? do you know any store like this near the airport ? Otherwise I can go to D1 if necessary.

thank you for your help!

YuZ

hi Melissa,

i've been keeping my fingers crossed, but finally i'm in HCMC, and i love it.

thank you!

YuZ

hey Samsam,

i've just run across a big piano store 'Toyo piano' in D1 at 112 Nguyen Du Street, Ben Thanh Ward.
i'm not sure if that is what you needed: they have steinways, kawais, etc. they are real(:

hope this helps.
