Fidel Zavala Secuestrada

Post new topic

Mike.M

Fidel Zavala was kidnapped from his ranch northeast of Concepcion on 15 October 2009 and is being ransomed for $5 million.

The EPP, a very small communist guerila group is credited with the abduction.

For about thirty days nothing happened.  Then government special forces moved in with 'Operation Triangle.'  However, I understand the family of Fidel Zavala wished for no government intervention.

This is nothing compared to the Zetas in Mexico.  But does anyone have an opinion of whether, or how, this could turn into something bigger?

All must know that Fidel Zavala was freed after paying $550,000 US + a livestock distribution.

Subsequently about 10 people were rounded up and accused of being EPP kidnappers.

It is interesting to me that the comments in abc digital are so heavily of the opinion that the people who were rounded up are probably innocent; that the government is incompetent.

Also interesting is that these comments are made by some people who apparently use their real names.

I haven't read any of what Fidel Zavala has to say.  But I would sure like to hear his statement.
